This well-known Christchurch business had outgrown its existing building and was looking for a strong construction partner to carry out the work. RPC Construction won this very competitive tender based on both pricing and some clever methodology around staging.
The project required earthquake repairs and a redevelopment of the entire site – including some demolition of existing buildings and rebuilding new warehouses, as well as refitting and strengthening the existing buildings which totalled 3,380 square metres.
It was imperative that the business continued to trade throughout the duration of the project. To enable this to happen, we broke the programme into 2 stages.
The ITM and RPC management teams worked very closely together to set up progressive access, zones and pathways for staff, sub-contractors and ITM’s valued customers. Good communication was the key to this and we had a fantastic relationship with the client, resulting in ongoing work on other projects.
